We regret to inform you that your eBay account could be suspended if you
don't resolve your problems. To resolve this problems please click here
and login into your account in order to resolve the problems. If your
problems could not be resolved your account will be suspended for a period
of 3-4 days, after that it will be operational again.

Answer:

(Note : the link has been removed from Sign On Here" at the bottom of the message to protect this site's readers. If you click on that link, it takes you to a "fake" site that looks almost exactly like the real eBay. Read on why people are doing this)

Danger ! I would watch out on this email. I can't be sure because I don't see the email trace route in the email you sent me, but it definitely looks like a possible hacker attempt. This type of hack usually poses as a legitimate company, with the goal of getting you to go to their site and sign in with your user id & password. As you do, they capture it and then use the information to make purchases, etc.

I noticed the message says " if you don't resolve your problems. To resolve this problems...." . There are two indications of a hack attempt here :
1) they mention "problems" without saying what specifically they are. eBay would always be specific if there's an issue.
2) "To resolve this problems" is a grammatical error. It would be very unusual for the employees at eBay to make such a mistake.

One thing to look for is that when you click on the link in the email, the domain it takes you to should be the official ebay.com address. For more information on this, you can go to http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/ , and click on "Spotting a Spoof (Fake) Email".

If you have any doubt whether an email is from eBay, forward the message to spoof@ebay.com . Don't alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment - doing so makes it more difficult for eBay to trace the message. They will usually get back to you very quickly.

Question:

Subject: How Do I get a refund for goods not received?

I have been trying to file a Protection Claim for goods paid for and not received.

As I am new to e-Bay and the computer I have not had much success.

I did file a claim with Square Trade Customer Support but they have been unable get any response from the seller.

The Item No. is xxxxxx Digital Camera. Cost $330.00 , Buyer I D: xxxxxxxx. I paid for the goods by direct payment into the sellers account as requested.

The information I have received is to notify eBay through the Trust & Safety Webform which I have been unable to locate.

Please advise me what procedures I have to take and the e-mail address.

Yours sincerely

Answer: I know it must be very disappointing to bid on an item and encounter a seller that doesn’t fulfill their promise to you. From my experience & feedback from many other buyers on eBay, this is extremely unusual, so don’t give up on eBay yet!

I looked up the seller feedback for your item and noticed that starting the first of December, they stopped shipping any items, and said responses like “I been very sick, will send all product ASAP” . So it’s possible that your seller was actually very sick. Unfortunately since you purchased the item on November 25, you had no way of knowing this seller’s responsiveness was about to change, because before that they had good feedback. Sadly & apparently something major has changed in the life of this seller, however, you should not have to suffer for it.

First, for any future auctions, always try if possible to pay with a credit card. If you pay by credit card or PayPal, as a last resort you can dispute the charge. Credit card companies offer the best protection for the buyer because of this option.

Here is what I would do If I were in your situation:

Go to http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/isgw-fraud-protection.html

And follow the steps listed there. I would definitely use the 1st step and request the “contact information”. It’s possible that the seller will have a phone number and address listed there. If so, you could try calling and see if you can work something out with the seller.

If that doesn’t work, go through the steps one by one. In particular, you must file a “Fraud alert” in order to eligible to participate in the Buyer protection program.

Note that in section 2, there is a “buyer protection program” that provides partial reimbursement for losses resulting from non-delivery or misrepresentation of most items up to $200 US, (which would at least help you recover part of your money).

Question: Subject: Confusion – more than one eBay ID

Dear Sir or Madame,

I appear to have registered more than once with eBay. We have residences in the UK and in France. My e-mail for the UK, xxxxxx@aol.com, and in France xxxxx@aol.com.

Unfortunately, I now have a lot of passwords, etc. and I no longer know what goes where. Is it possible to ' clear the slate ' and start again. My best e-mail to contact is xxxxx@aol.com.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Yours sincerely,

Answer:

That’s an interesting question! In order to help you solve this dilemma, I went to the eBay log on screen, and clicked on “Forgot your user ID”. This opens up a window that allows a user to put in their email address. I did this for you using both emails shown in your message. You should be seeing an email directly from eBay shortly that will list your user Ids for these two email addresses. (You have to look at both email accounts because eBay only sends this information to the specific email address set up when you registered.)

Once you have your eBay User Ids, next you can go to the eBay log on screen and type in your User ID, and click on “Forgot your password?”. eBay will then take you through the steps to recover your passwords for the 2 User Ids.

Once you have this information, you can then merge the two eBay accounts. The instructions on how to do this are located at http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/merge-accounts.html on the USA eBay, and as of this writing, they are also the same eBay UK & eBay France.

Answer:

On the eBay registration page there is a “Need Help” link that takes you to http://pages.ebay.com/help/reg/RegisterEnterInfo.html .

Once there, try the “Live Help” button at the bottom of that page and someone will walk you through how to fix the problem
